Venturing further, Rama, Lakshmana, and Sita reached Panchavati. It is located near Nashik in Maharashtra. It was in Panchavati that the demoness Surpanakha encountered the brothers. Leading to the infamous nose-cutting incident. This episode marked a turning point in their quest for Sita.
